Introduction to Music. 

Age – 6/7 years
Duration – 2 to 4 terms recommended.

This class is a fun introduction to Music for younger students. It will cover various elements of music such as rhythm, beat, melody, through drumming, xylophones, boomwhackers, singing and body percussion….as well as a look at some instruments like keyboard, ukulele and others in later terms.

The focus is on playing, singing and having fun!

Introduction to Percussion & Drumming

Age – 6/7 years
Duration – 2 to 4 terms recommended

This class is a fun, hands-on introduction to percussion and drumming for younger students. It explores rhythm, beat, tempo and coordination through group drumming, hand percussion, body percussion and basic drum kit concepts.

Students will develop listening skills, timing and musical confidence while playing together in a supportive, high-energy environment. The focus is on participation, teamwork and—most importantly—having fun while making music.

Beginner Keyboard

Age – 7 years+

Playing the keyboard or piano is for life! In these lessons you will learn how to play simple tunes, first with one hand, then with two hands.

You will learn:

Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is learning how to play the piano/keyboard. But a desire to learn, along with regular practice will help ensure your success!

Intermediate Keyboard

Age – 8 years+

This class is for students who have mastered the basics, having learnt piano/keyboard for a minimum of two previous terms. Students should be able to read some musical notation and rhythms, before starting
intermediate level keyboard.

Entry at the discretion of the teacher.

Ukulele

Age 8+

This is a great way to start on stringed instruments. Small group lessons focus on learning how to hold the ukulele, learn different strum patterns and how pluck the strings and play simple chords. This leads to the fun of being able to play [and sing], some simple songs.

Guitar / Bass

Age 9+

Small group lessons focus on learning how to hold the guitar, learn different strum patterns and guitar techniques and play simple chords. This leads to the fun of being able to play [and sing – if that’s your thing!] some classic and current songs in a band situation. As students progress and improve,
more challenging material will be covered.

Junior Drama

Age: 6+ 

Drama Junior is a playful, creative space where young performers can explore storytelling, imagination, and self-expression — whether they love being in the spotlight or are still learning to step into it.

Through games, role play and simple scene-making, students will build confidence, practice active listening, and learn how to respond to others in the moment. We’ll focus on teamwork, making choices, and having fun while developing important life skills like communication, empathy, and self-belief.

This class supports both energetic performers and those who need a gentle nudge to come out of their shell — all within a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment.


Senior Drama

Suitable for students Year 7+

Drama Senior is designed for older students ready to deepen their performance skills, creative thinking, and confidence. This class encourages students to collaborate, take creative risks, and explore characters and scenes.

Students will engage in two-way dialogue, active listening, and imaginative decision-making as they create and develop scenes together. Whether students are natural performers or quieter observers, the focus is on growth, self-awareness, and learning how to express ideas clearly and confidently.

This class fosters independence, creativity, and reflection — skills that support both performance and everyday life.  Always within a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment.

 

Drums

Age 11+

Drumming reduces stress, boosts brain power, develops confidence
and introduces you to new friends and a lifetime of music fun.

We will cover the following:

Violin

Age 6+

Learning the violin from a young age develops musicality, is particularly helpful for developing a good sense of pitch – important for singers
and instrumentalists, and musical memory. Violins can be hired from our instrument library.

Trumpet

Age 8+

Trumpet is the coolest of all instruments.Once you have learnt the basics you can play many styles of music. Classical, jazz, pop, regae,  rock and many more.Trumpet is great for developing good pitch , coordination and breath control.You will learn to read music and how to play in a small group.Trumpet requires dedication and regular home practice. A much more rewarding experience than computer games!!
